ElectromagneticRapperIntegratedController
The ERIC (Electromagnetic Rapper Integrated Controller) containsall the equipment necessary for controlling electromagneticrappers, pneumatic hammers and vibrators on an ESP. ERIC canoperate as either an independent unit or as part of a networkcomprising several ERIC units. Each ERIC can handle a total of 256rappers and 64 auxiliaries. The controller outputs are pided intothree section buses, two for 128 rappers each and the thirdfor
the auxiliaries.
The rapper section buses can rap one rapper each at a time, whichmeans that two rappers, one in each bus, can be rapped in auxiliary section bus allows more than one output to beactivated at the same time as long as
the maximum current for the bus is not surpassed.
The only external equipment needed for making settings andcontrolling the ERIC is a WebRTU (Web based Remote TerminalUnit).
ERIC uses distributed I/O-units called Connection Connection box needs only a few conductors to ERIC but thencontrols a large number of rappers. The Connection box is normallyinstalled in cabinet placed closed to the rappers.
ERIC: Part of the ESPControl Family
ERIC is one of several productsin the ESP Control family, intended for the control of solenoidoperated magnetic impact gravity rappers, pneumatically operatedhammers and vibrators.
A single ERIC is used for controlling the rapper system of small tomediumsized ESPs. For control of ESPs with multiple lines/fields,several ERIC units can be connected together via an Ethernet switchand each ERIC can control part of an ESP, e.g. a fieled bus orequal.
ERICs, SIRs, EPIC IIIs and Alstom’s Process Monitor(HMI-interface)
ProMo III all communicate with each other in a plug-and-playmanner.
ProMo III is a full HMI unit specialised in ESP operation andsupervision, including all modern screen pictorials, logging andtrend curves that are needed for ESP operation. In addition, eachERIC include a web server for easy access from a PC with a webbrowser, using the WebRTU interface.
A specific monitoring software, the PC-MTU can also be installed ona PC and utilised for monitoring multiple (ESP) control unitinstallations.
One WebRTU can be used for all ERIC units and all equipmentcommunicates via industrial Ethernet.
